Hi Kate n Carl,

Did you change the name? I have your web page linked in my computer as MOB. Just curious as I enjoy your chronicle.

Yes we changed the name slightly by using the acronym from "Moonflower Of Moab".
We never used the full name of our boat on any official documents only the acronym of "M.O.M."
So we got the domain of sv-mom.com (Sailing Vessel MOM) as it was available.

We're very excited as we near completion of the boat. Just some minor interior trim and electronics additions.

Brent,
We are heading up to MOM this coming weekend to get a few more things done.
We will be staying there through the holidays.
Our plan for the next summer (2010) is to do a trip around Vancouver Island taking about 1-1/2 months or so.
We should be launching the second week in June.
When we are working on MOM we check into the Great Northern Boaters Net on 3870 kHz at 8:30 AM Pacific time.

What are your plans this coming summer?

Hope this finds you well,
Kate (KF7GFM) n Carl (WA7PIB)

Not sure what I'm doing this summer. May go the Charlottes . My Icom 735 quit a while ago so I'm radioless until I get it fixed or get a super deal on anther radio. . Schematics for the 735 are unavailable.

Well our trip over the holidays worked out great.
Got a lot done on the interior & have more little things on the "to-do" list.
In the previous post I got the time wrong, the GNBN is at 8:00 AM local time on 3870 Khz.
I am heading up again this next week to do even more updates.
I will be installing a rigid boom vang and redoing the reefing system so a reef can be pulled into the main from either side of the boom (this was a suggestion from Cosmo at Beecher Bay).
Also installing additional handrails inside and a complete upgrade of the solar PV system.

I find I get a lot more done out cruising than I do in town. A lot more fun doing it as well.
